Can't believe the HIM comments here. A self catering villa works out far cheaper for a family than a hotel. Villas also offer greater space, comfort and privacy. Imagine a family of 4 stuck in a hotel room, then fighting for sun beds down at the pool which is full of other people watching you. Most villas (I am from Cyprus) have private pools, kitchens with cooking facilities and dishwashers, modern lounge areas with large TV's with Satellite, DVD etc, individual bedrooms mostly with en-suite. The pool areas are privately enclosed with private sun loungers, bbq's etc too. You can usually dine out cheaper at local restaurants also, can wear what you want and feast when you are hungry under the stars or next to your own pool, or in anywhere that takes your fancy. You can be as extravagant, or conservative, as your pocket or taste dictates. Feel like "winding down" after a day of activities? Go ahead! Skinny dip in the privacy of your own swimming pool. Holiday makers nowadays look for a different and flexible kind of holiday. The all-included resorts are too noisy and impersonal. Hotels are very limiting and crowded. Holiday villas on the other hand offer flexibility, better lifestyle, value for money and thus much more enjoyable holidays. Also the increasing popularity of low cost, "no frills" airlines has caused flights to become cheaper than ever before making holiday villa rentals a popular and practical alternative to package holidays. Below are some of the advantages of renting a holiday villa with a swimming pool. I could go on forever really. There is no comparison unless you are on your own and no-one to enjoy all this with! Anyone 'in the know' realises how much better a villa is compared to a hotel which is fast becoming an outdated way to holiday. Hope this helps those that are unsure.
